❓
Frequently Asked Questions
What is infrared thermal imaging?
Infrared thermal imaging is a method of using infrared radiation and thermal energy to gather information about objects to formulate images or get temperature data, even in zero visibility.
What is the advantage of infrared thermal imaging?
It allows seeing through total darkness, identification under camouflage, long-range detection, and non-contact temperature measurement.
What is the difference between uncooled and cooled IR detectors?
Uncooled detectors operate at ambient temperature, are smaller, and cost less. Cooled detectors use cryocoolers for extremely low temperatures, offering higher sensitivity for long-range missions.
What is NETD?
NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference) measures how well a detector distinguishes small differences in thermal radiation, typically expressed in milli-Kelvin (mK).
What is WLP and its advantage?
WLP (Wafer Level Package) is the process of vacuum packaging directly on the wafer. It meets the miniaturization and low-cost requirements for consumer electronics.
What is a thermal imaging module?
A thermal imaging module consists of an infrared detector, lens, and electronics with embedded software/algorithms. It is the core unit of any thermal device.
